Food For Thought

I went to a quaint little cafe this rainy afternoon to finish a book- at food for thought.


the decor was scandinavian, minimalist, but it had a really homey feeling to it- i think it was due to the framed pictures and bits of press coverage on the walls. the waiters were really nice to me too. smiles.


I was feeling adventurous, so I tried one of their cakes with local flavours- a "durian mousse cake". Although the presentation was not fantastic, but I felt that the cake flavours balanced out well. Of course, my mousse is wayyy nicer. But I am rather envious of the baker's vanilla sponge technique. My vanilla sponge layers are never quite as soft and fluffy and airy as these!

OMG! My friend used to be one of the chefs at food for thought! His peach crumble was awesomez.

i have yet to try the peach crumble but i'll definitely try it if I see it there the next time i go back! hope your hols are going well! <3
